On September 24, 2012 is was announced that developer and publisher DotEmu will rerelease 1997’s award winning classic "The Last Express" for IPhone and IPad this Thursday September 27, 2012.
Created by Jordan Mechner who is widely known for creating both The Prince of Persia franchise and the martial arts classic Karateka, The Last Express takes place upon the captivating Orient Express.
Players will have to interact with 30 characters, all in which represent many different nations. Including the Serbian freedom fighters, a German arms dealer, a Russian anarchist, a beautiful Austrian concert violinist, a mysterious art collector, and a Turkish harem
Players are meet with the challenge of keep their head in tact while listen in on conversations, snooping into compartment, killing off deadly foes, and defusing a bomb before it gets rid of all the passengers. The story is non-linear; the characters will tend to go about their business even when the player is not there to witness them; allowing no two stories should play through the same.
The events of the game are held July 1914, on the eve of World War I; players assume the part of Robert Cath an American doctor with an unknown past. He’s a fugitive from French police. Cath boards the train in answer to an urgent message from his best friend, but finds himself caught in a world of conspiracy, love, and murder.
"The Last Express" has been the receiver of numerous awards including Editor’s Choice Awards from PC Gamer, Next Generation, and Computer Gaming World. Most impressive, Last Express also won a gold medal from GamesDomain. The rave reviews and numerous other awards top off the achievement The Last Express has made.
