Time for a little déjà vu as Dinora is now out for XBLIG

Time to start saying goodbye to XBLIG folks because Microsoft won’t be bringing it back for the Xbox 720 or whatever they end up naming it which is honestly kind of sad but then it is banned in a lot of countries like Ireland for some reason but just because it’s going doesn’t mean it’s not finished yet as Dinora is now available on XBLIG for 80 Microsoft points.

Dinora is a 2D sandbox adventure game where the player needs to mine and chop down trees in order to survive and while yes that does sound a lot like Terraria and even looks quite a lot like it but Dinora has got a bunch of feature which will hopefully set it apart.

While in Terraria players would build weapons and armour just to survive or if they’re either bored or want a challenge take on one of the games bosses, in Dinora you need that equipment not only to survive the night but also because your randomly generated world is under attack from a mysterious force that wants to wipe out the planet and you and your friends are its only hope.

To be fair your plants would be trying to kill you too if you grew them near what looks like radioactive water

Now is probably a good time to mention that you’re not the only on living on your randomly generated rock as the game features plenty of NPC’s or Dinoran’s who you can interact with if you want as they completely ignorable. They will give you missions and jobs during the game and if you do them you’ll be rewards.

You can live, marry and even procreate with them if you want and just watch as they live out their lives and even play landlord and build them houses and charge rent to earn some extra money because those fancy new weapons aren’t going to just be given to you despite the fact that your you know saving the planet. Well you and your pet wolf if you can tame one.

So that’s Dinora and its looks like you’re going to get a lot of game for those leftover 80 Microsoft points especially if you like Terraria. Its games like this that makes me kind of wish that Microsoft would bring back XBLIG but then again it’s got a ton of crap on it so maybe it won’t be such a bad thing. Anyway here’s the release trailer for Dinora.
