Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have released another video offering gamers a behind the scenes look at upcoming game Tomb Raider. The third and final episode of the ‘Final Hours of Tomb Raider’ explores the games soundtrack composed by Jason Graves. Zachary Levi once again hosts the web series.
In the video Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics announce that Jason Graves, the award winning composer who has composed for film, television and gaming is composing the original score for Tomb Raider. Graves has previously composed for a number of games including Fear, Dead Space and Rayman Raving Rabbids.
In The Sound of Survival, host Zachary Levi escorts gamers to the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) London headquarters to speak to Graves about his role in the reboot of the iconic Tomb Raider games franchise. Graves has previously been recognized by BAFTA for his Original Score and Use of Audio in Dead Space.
In the Sounds of Survival Jason Graves reveals his vision for the game’s soundscape and speaking about infusing atmosphere, emotion and authenticity into Lara Croft’s origin story through his musical score. Graves explains his search to find the perfect sound in the game and his collaboration with sculptor Matt McConnell. Graves and McConnell created a bespoke and wholly original instrument to aid Graves in bringing a unique sound to Tomb Raider. The unique instrument can be viewed at Matt McConnell’s website here.
Tomb Raider explores the gritty origins of Lara Croft. The game chronicles her ascent from a frightened young woman into a hardened survivor. Lara is armed only with her raw instinct, and the ability to push beyond the limits of human endurance. In Tomb Raider Lara Croft will fight to unravel the dark history of a forgotten island, in the attempt to escape its hold.

Tomb Raider is currently set for Release on March 5th 2013.
