Toshiba cuts set to cost half of their TV division their jobs

Toshiba cuts also mean the end of two of three factories

On Monday Toshiba Corporation announced that they’re going to have to make cuts to their TV Division. These Toshiba cuts are a serious deal for the company because they are set to cut the TV division by half.

These cuts are due to Toshiba making millions of dollars in losses from their TV division because they can’t seem to attract customers to their products and their also expecting to take losses in the PC department so this may not be the last of their cuts.

These Toshiba cuts mean the loss of over 3,000 jobs in their TV division and on top of that Toshiba are also going to close two out of three of their factories across China, Indonesia and Poland but they haven’t announced which factories their closing.

Despite all of these cuts Toshiba do however plan to make up for their losses in the TV division by increasing their TV outsourcing from 40% to 70% though surely for this size of an increase they may end up needing some of their closing factories.

Now Toshiba aren’t the only TV Company suffering from these times as Panasonic and Sony have also confirmed losses with Sony earlier this month admitting that they’ve had nine straight annual losses in their TV department.
