Trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified Revealed

Need to satisfy your multi-player shooter while commuting to work? Grab yourself a PS Vita and a copy of Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified!

Getting a shooter game on a handheld device is tough. It has been attempted before in the past, and some successful ones could be Fighting Fantasy: Warlock on Firetop Mountain on the Nintendo DS. But when you bring up the horrible memories of Metroid: Prime Hunters on the same handheld device, and you make gamers cringe over the idea of shooter games on tiny screens. Multi-player gaming is also a difficult issue as Wi-Fi technology might drop out compared to an Ethernet cable connection. However Activision seems intent to show how all this can be done with Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified.

There is a whole bunch of features brought from the previous Call of Duty multi-player games in Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified. A few game modes are provided, such as Team Deathmatch, Free-For-All, and Dropzone. A variety of weapons along with their own attachments are provided, along with different grenades. Other features from previous Call of Duty games like XP, killstreaks, perks, and Create-A-Class will also come over. Finally, players can participate in any of the game moves up to four versus four players.

Anyone that might have their Wi-Fi drop during the game might find the single-player campaign worth looking into. The story for Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified seems to take place during the events of Black Ops and Black Ops II. Players will have to shoot down numerous grunts in lush areas while uncovering secrets between the two games. Outside of the campaign mode, players can also participate in objective-based operations, survival and time trail missions.

It seems like Activision could be delivering a similar experience to Call of Duty fans with Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to feature any of the new James Bond-like gadgets its future cousin shows off in the multi-player trailer. However if you are looking to get that experience where you stab your buddies in the neck with a knife while you take a two hour drive with your family, this game might suit your interests.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified is an exclusive game to the Playstation Vita. Expect its release in November, 2012.
