That’s right, the critically acclaimed “Tropico” series is back again with Kalypso Media announcing that Tropico 5 is being prepared by Heimimont Studios for a 2014 release on the Xbox 360, PC, Mac and Linux!
Tropico 5 casts you once again as “El Presidente” who gains control of the Tropico island in the colonial times and builds a powerful nation that will thrive throughout the many centuries that the game covers. This task, however, will be far from easy. You must tackle the constantly changing needs of your people while fighting off competing rival nations not to mention surviving both world wars, the cold war and the great depression. Needless to say, your work has really been cut out for you!
Start construction of your empire in the colonial times and let it grow throughout the centuries from the 19th to the 21st and beyond far into the future. Don’t forget that every member of your family is present on the island and you can promote them for certain jobs such as secretary of defence or even to surpass you as supreme ruler after you are dead to ensure your family legacy stays alive. Send prospectors across your island to search for minerals and resources and most importantly set up trade routes early and often as it will be imperative to your survival.
But the best has yet to come because a brand new feature that has been announced for this title is on-line multiplayer. In this mode, up to 4 players can build their individual empires on the same island leaving them to decide whether to work together as a single empire or spend the entire game declaring war on each other or a combination.
