Konami is working with Come Round to offer 250 UK gamers the chance to receive their pre-ordered copy of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance a week before everyone else. That is sort of exciting. Sort of. More importantly, they also have a chance to meet Hideo Kojima. Now that is actually interesting. Gamers who agree to host a party on February 16th will be entered into a contest with winners randomly chosen to receive their copy of the game early, as well as a slew of party things. Wristbands, t-shirts, and other things. No cake though, you’re on your own for that.
If you’re wondering what Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is about, you are not alone. The official description for the game is as follows: “Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance takes the renowned Metal Gear franchise into exciting new territory with an all-new action experience unlike anything that has come before. Effortlessly blending pure action and epic storytelling within the Metal Gear universe, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance uses Raiden as its central character: a child soldier transformed into a half-man, half-machine cyborg ninja, equipped with his signature High-Frequency Blade and fuelled by revenge.” It’s a game about a cyborg ninja fuelled by the most renewable energy source in the video game universe: revenge. I mean, if this works, can you imagine what this will do to the whole renewable energy issue we have on this planet? All we’d have to do is find a couple of angsty teenagers who have been wronged, and bam, we can run the city for a year. We solved the energy crisis!
