Viking: Battle for Asgard comes to PC

SEGA of America today announced that the PC version of Viking: Battle for Asgard is now available on Steam. Originally created in 2008 by The Creative Assembly for Xbox360 and PS3, the game was met with mediocre reviews. Now, Hardlight Studios, a subsidiary of SEGA, has breathed new life into the franchise by developing an enhanced version for PC. Hardlight Studios collaborated heavily with The Creative Assembly to bring Viking: Battle for Asgard to PC, complete with Steam integration.

“Working with the team at CA was an exciting opportunity for Hardlight.  A high quality benchmark had already been set on the Xbox and PS3 versions and the project offered a variety of new challenges for the team working with CA to deliver high-end content on the PC,” said Lee Winder, Project Lead on the brand new PC version of Viking: Battle for Asgard.

Viking: Battle for Asgard is known for its enormous, free-roaming environments and apocalyptic battles between Vikings and Demons. The PC version updates visuals in order to take full advantage of modern gaming hardware, and includes PC staples such as anti-aliasing and ambient occlusion. SEGA promises high end PC users will have a “stunning graphical experience”. Viking: Battle for Asgard supports gamepad play, but also includes fully remapped keyboard and mouse controls for PC gamers.

In Viking: Battle for Asgard, players control Skarin, a young Viking hero, on a journey to conquer the demonic hordes raised by the death-goddess, Hel. On his quest Skarin will gain new allies, tame mighty dragons, and rally the Viking Clans in order to defeat Hel and her minions.

Viking: Battle For Asgard for PC is available now on Steam for $14.99 USD. For more information click here.
