Wargame: AirLand Battle Set For Launch In Spring 2013!

RTS fans rejoice, the sequel to Wargame: European Escalation is nearly upon us. Today Eugen Systems, the game’s French developer, and Focus Home Interactive released 6 new screenshots of the sequel and elaborated on some of the game’s new features.

First off, the IRISZOOM Engine used in the original Wargame has been updated to improve the already impressive graphics. The new version of IRISZOOM can display impressive details from both up-close and afar. Also new to the engine is “realistic relief” which is the direct reproduction of terrain via satellite images.

Now on to the game. Wargame: AirLand Battle takes place during the Cold War era and features the integration of air forces with a huge fleet of over 150 aircrafts. The game features over 200 new ground-based units and vehicles as well. With a towering 750 in-game units, Wargame: AirLand Battle is proving to have one of the most comprehensive libraries of arsenal ever seen in a videogame.

Also new to the game is the Urban Combat Interface (UCI) which will aid players as they conquer cities block by block. Players can also customize their armies thanks to the “Deck” system which has been enhanced with an integrated viewing system.
