Wii Party U shows a unique experience with the Wii U GamePad

Wii Party UWii Party U is a Wii U game coming out on November 15th, the game is being released as a standalone game or it can be purchased with a Wii U however it seems it’s not going to be released with the Wii U Premium meaning you’ll get less memory and is marketed towards families and children, but this also means it should be cheaper which is always good.

Wii Party U features over 80 mini-games, for people of all ages and every kind of gamer. You can play a wide selection of games from board games which are playable on the television, or games which can be played on the GamePad so someone else can use the television!

“Call your family and friends and start planning your Wii Party U party now,” – Scott Moffitt

The Wii was infamous for it’s party games, it was the console where everyone was involved, it wasn’t for the gamers which played Call of Duty etc and was often criticised for it. It was exclusively for the family or young gamers, unless they’re swarming Halo… But hopefully this game will change that, if it’s true that it’s for every kind of gamer, perhaps I’ll be inclined to get it. The game features many modes which I’ll talk about more below.

Wii Party U

TV Party Mode: In this mode the players are able to sit down on the sofa as you compete with friends with board style games, each moving towards a goal on several boards using the Wii U GamePad and controllers. One to four players can participate and requires a decent amount of skill.

House Party Mode: This mode involves physical and mental games, the game changes based on who is playing. So players which are proficient at button mashing, you’ll need to press a sequence of buttons as quick as possible. Or using the Wii U‘s GamePad camera you’re able to take a photo while others have to guess what the expression is, all the games involved make for a decent evening.

GamePad Party Mode: This mode asks the players to turn off the television and use the GamePad controller. The games featured in this mode only use the GamePad, the games features football or racing while using the horizontal stand for great gameplay.

These aren’t the only modes which come with the game, Wii Party U also features a game mode where the game recommends mini-games depending on the amount of players and recent mini-games played. You’re also able to view archives that displays recent records. If you have internet access then you can use Miiverse to rate your favourite mini-games and leave comments or drawings.

Wii Party U comes bundled with a Wii Remote Plus and a Wii U GamePad horizontal stand, for more information about Wii Party U visit http://wiipartyu.nintendo.com.

I've always had a keen interest for games, mostly adventure games. I'm an extremely keen fan for Dark Souls, Legend of Zelda and Final Fantasy. You couldn't go wrong with them, apart from Skyward Sword.
