Guild Wars 2 fans rejoice at the return of Wintersday! This wondrous festival has officially began , so get your character and travel throughout Tyria collecting holiday gifts, playing mini-games, and finding new events. Happy Wintersday everyone!
ArenaNet is once again carrying out their tradition of Wintersday with rewarding events and new quests. The bonus is it is all free. The master of ceremonis and traveling toy maker, Tixx is coming around to all the major cities of Tyria to deliver toys to every race along with his trusty mech golem Toxx. It isn’t all fun and games though because let’s face it something bad has to happen. Toxx somehow causes the toys to malfunction and it is up to you to fix them!
Earning new toys is the way to progress in Wintersday. After Tixx is finished delivering toys all around the land he will stop in Lion’s Arch where players can attend different Wintersday events, and earn rewards. Players can also play mini-games such as grabbing presents that fall from the sky, snowball fights, and joining a Bell Choir, ding dong. The thing I am most excited about what they are calling the Toypocalypse. I am not fully aware as to what it may be but I for sure will be playing to find out. My guess is a smorgasbord of toys that explode with joy and laughter. Don’t quote me on that though.
Here is an official timing of Wintersday events:
• Friday, 14 December – Wintersday begins with a holiday-themed Lion’s Arch, numerous mini-games, presents falling from the sky and more.
• Saturday, 15 December 15, 19:00 CET (20:00 GMT) – Tixx the Toymaker will make his first appearance at The Grove followed by stops at every capital for one day each.
• Thursday, 20 December, 19:00 CET (20:00 GMT) – Tixx the Toymaker’s airship will hover over Lion’s Arch and remain there until Wintersday ends.
• Thursday, 3 January 3 19:00 CET (20:00 GMT) – The Wintersday event ends.
So grab that epic coat and fur pants and get your Wintersday on.
