Hey everyone! Want a new zombie game? You don’t? Well it’s too bad publishers can’t hear you because you’re getting another one! ZombiU is coming to the Wii U. The trailer for ZombiU shows off some gameplay and how the Wii U controller will work.
That controller is big, and looks sort of clunky, but maybe we’ll all adjust and it will be just fine. I mean, we all loved the Wii nunchuks, right? Same goes for those smooth Playstation Move and Kinect controls. At this point, Sony and Microsoft will eventually mimic whatever Nintendo puts out. Nintendo must know this, so maybe they’re doing this as a joke. Ha ha, very funny Nintendo, you really had us going, making us think that everyone was going to buy incredibly expensive GamePads. You’re such kidders.
ZombiU completely turns the tables on the typical zombie story. Usually, it is told from the zombie perspective, so you get a lot of “uuugggh…brainsss…” which is great because it cuts costs in the writing department. That stuff writes itself. In ZombiU, you play as a survivor in a zombie-infested world trying to fight against the undead in the London underground.
The Wii U controls allow you to manage inventory to your heart’s content, which is the best part of any game. It also displays a map of your surroundings. The interesting part about the game is that when you die, and you will almost certainly die, you wake up as a new character since your old character is now a zombie. They’ve also got a multiplayer mode so your friends can either spawn zombies to kill you or play as a survivor who fights back the zombies.
The mode also has a “mercy-killer” feature, where they can hunt down your zombified character and loot your stuff. I’m pretty sure my friends would do this, but not because they want to show mercy and put me out of my misery. They just want my stuff. My friends are jerks.
