Net Dragon Websoft Inc. announced the open beta date for Absolute Force Online. On December 19th at 5 PM PST, players are invited to join in and experience the MMOFPS. The title is also free to play, so it is technically a FTPMMOFPS. Don’t you just love initialisms? They’re absolutely everywhere because titles have become increasingly long and difficult to say, with all the subtitles and additions and expansions. Either that or we’ve become very, very lazy. Someday, we’ll reach a critical point where we have to shorten our initialisms and acronyms, and then we’ll know things have gone too far.
Absolute Force Online has a lot in store for players, including eight different modes of play such as Bomb Mode, Capture the Flag, and Zombie Mode. Gee, I wonder where they got the idea for that last one. How about for the sake of originality we have a mode where I could have the chance to shoot sparkling vampires. Or maybe we could do something with mummies or banshees, because we’ve reached critical mass with the zombie thing. I’m over it. Besides the modes that many FPS players know and love, there are also new modes such as Arsenal Mode and Vehicle Mode where players are rewarded with sweeter gear for every kill they make, which is certain to make the best players unstoppable juggernauts. Any characters created during the open beta will be allowed to remain in the released game, which was not the case for character created in the closed beta. Additionally, the development team behind Absolute Force Online has been taking player feedback very seriously, so feel free to let them know how the game plays. And maybe put in a word or two about Mummy Mode.
