Alien Rage by CI Games is now available on Steam with a limited time 20% off discount. The game is expect to be released on the PC via Steam on September 24th, and later this fall on the Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network.
This first person sci-fi shooter puts you in the middle of a war between humans and an alien race called the Vorus. The humans settled on an asteroid called Deimos 875 in order to mine an extremely rare and valuable energy source called Promethium. Years later, the Vorus had the same idea, and settled there too. Conflict arose between the two races and drove the humans out. In comes you, the protagonist. This rugged sounding space-soldier was sent to Deimos to basically blow up everything in his way because as the trailer said “If we can’t have it, nobody can.. “. This makes sense because it was stated that Promethium was powerful enough to power an entire planet; that could be dangerous in the hands of a rogue alien race that had no problem opening fire on humans.
The game’s developer boasts “14 intense levels” and “beastly-sized bosses that will test your every skill”. You will be able to “battle hardened Alien forces that will attack you from every direction using various flanking and attack moves.” These statements leads me to believe that this game is trying to promote a hard difficulty, and trying to appeal to hardcore players.
Visually, Alien Rage looks great. It actually kind of looks like what Gear of War would have been if it were a first person shooter and not third person. A lot of the environments and guns look like they might belong in Gears of War.
Alien Rage will have multiplayer, but no further information on that has been given yet. For only $15.99, $19.99 regularly, Alien Rage looks like it could be a pretty solid game, check it out here on Steam.
