DICE’s E3 Mirror’s Edge 2 debut trailer

See EA does occasionally listen

It has taken over seven years, but Mirror’s Edge is finally going to get itself a sequel; as revealed during the first day of E3. Mirror’s Edge 2 is again going to be coming to us from DICE.

Judging from the Mirror’s Edge 2 debut trailer, this game is most likely going to be a prequel to the original. During the trailer Faith is shown getting her tattoos done, so it looks like we are finally going to learn the truth of Faith’s past and maybe why she does not mind killing people during the first game.

The trailer itself is made using the in-game engine and it genuinely looks really impressive. The game is not due out until 2014 and it will be on the next-gen consoles, obviously, as well as the PC – hopefully. It did take a while for the original Mirror’s Edge game to get onto the PC but hopefully there will not be as long a wait this time round.

The trailer also shows Faith trying to escape from a facility while being chased by people who appear to be the ‘Rouge Runners’ from the first Mirror’s Edge. She takes out one of them near the end, thankfully by countering them (in slow motion of course), which I am hoping to see a reflection of in the game.

So with Mirror’s Edge 2 be scheduled for a release sometime in 2014, it looks like we are going to have to wait for more news from EA to find out more. Until then,  here is the Mirror’s Edge 2 debut trailer.
