Skylanders SWAP Force release date and pre-order details

Looks like it’s time to start saving again, parents

So, Activision has finally announced the Skylanders SWAP Force release date, the latest generation of their hugely popular Skylanders series, as well as details on what players/parents should expect to pay for the game when it is released.

Skylanders SWAP Force is the third entry in the Skylanders series, and this entry will give players customization options for the first time, as they will be able to swap the top and bottom of all 16 of the new SWAP Force characters. There are over 250 unique combinations.

I got a feeling at the ESRB for the game would be a lot higher if the games should there reacts to there body parts being pulled

The game will also introduce new abilities into the mix, like teleporting, climbing and flying, in order to access new areas. Considering that Spyro has been in these games since the start, I am surprised that it has taken this long to introduce flying. As you would expect, the game will support all of the 100 + Skylanders from the previous games as well.

Skylanders SWAP Force release date is scheduled for North America on October 13th, Australia on October 16th and finally, in Europe on October 18th.

Prices for Skylander SWAP Force are expected to be $79.99 for the Starter Pack, $9.99 for core characters and $15.99 for the new SWAP FORCE characters. You can start pre-ordering the game now, and all copies that are pre-ordered come with a free Skylander toy.

Skylander SWAP Force will be released for the PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Wii, as well as the Wii U and the 3DS. The game has not been given an ESRB rating yet.
