Rayman Legends is to make full use of the new Nintendo Wii U features when it arrives in stores.
It will feature touch based gameplay in many ways, and will make use of the gyroscope for some functions. Early previews also demonstrated how the NFC functions could be used to for example to bring on screen attacking Rabbids, possibly helping you get past a rough patch.
Want to play the game whilst you have no access to a TV? Not a problem, as the game will stream straight to the tablet controller.

Rayman, Globox, and the Teensies are off wandering through an enchanted forest when they discover a mysterious tent filled with a series of captivating paintings. As they look more closely, they notice each painting seems to tell the story of a mythical world. While focusing on a painting that shows a medieval land, they are suddenly sucked into the painting, entering the world, and the adventure begins. The gang must run, jump and fight their way through each world to save the day and discover the secrets of every legendary painting.
With the power of the Wii U, Rayman Legends will allow co-op play with 5 players!
Bring together 4 wiimotes, and a tablet controller and you can really have some fun. Players can also enter and drop out without any interuption to the gameplay.
New to Rayman Legends are 3D boss battles. Now bosses can attack from all angles, and with other engine enhancements, brings a whole new 3D feel all round. New lighting, and a whole new rendering system makes the game breath-taking to look at in motion.
Online leaderboards will allow you to keep track on speed runs, and other challenges.
Speed runs have been given a greater appeal with the inclusion of musical timed runs which can involve many actions to perform, and I found this actually rather clever.
As you run across the level, you jump, hit targets, zip line, etc to the beat of the music playing, which plays out in the music you are listening too.
I do wonder that if you slowed down, would the music slow down too?
No date or ratings have been announced, but we are excited about Rayman Legends. Are you?
