Nintendo Land promises to show what the new Nintendo Wii U’s tablet controller can do, and the new systems Miiverse social features.
The game will bring together many characters from the Nintendo world into one game.
Nintendo Land will consist of 12 different attractions each offering a new experience only possible using the tablet controller.
You can play alone, against others, or co-operatively if you so wish. You won’t be forced however to use a tablet controller, as the game will change based on which controller you want to use.
Here is a quick list of some of the attractions available in the game. More are being revealed as time passes:
- Donkey Kong’s Crash Course
- Luigi’s Ghost Mansion
- Animal Crossing™: Sweet Day
- The Legend of Zelda™: Battle Quest
- Takamaru’s Ninja Castle
- F-Zero
Luigi’s Ghost Mansion for example will allow for some new gameplay mechanics. The person playing on the new gamepad is a ghost and can’t be seen by the other players on screen.
Their aim is to capture 4 humans armed with flashlights. Get caught in the light and you become visible and also recieve damage, but stay in the shadows and you prove impossible to see and can sneak up.
Players can revive fallen players before the ghost player has successfully gained all the players he needs to win.
As time passes, more are being revealed, so please keep up to date.
We can welcome F-Zero to the table! F-Zero will involve the player strapping themselves into a cockpit of one of the hovercraft racers.
You will have to avoid obstacles though, like spinning tornadoes. The person controlling the tablet controller it seems will be able to place obstacles on the track for the main player to avoid.
6 other attractions are yet to be announced, and no release date has yet been given for Mario Land though expect it this year.
