Earn to Die Available on App Store

The zombie-crushing Flash game Earn to Die is making its way to the iOS.

Most Flash games could be brushed off by gamers as it seems to target the 'casual' audience.  Maybe gamers assume these are only made to make virtual dress-up dolls or dating simulation games.  But it seems like if you throw zombies into any game than it could be popular with gamers, such as Earn to Die.  At least popular enough to give it a port to iOS devices.

Earn to Die puts you in the shoes of some unknown person stuck in a desert with a horde of zombies in the way.  You only got a run-down car to purchase at the beginning to drive through the undead, brain-eaters.  Along the way you will earn more money by progression and killing zombies, which allows you to purchase new cars and upgrades.

There will be a few new upgrades to the iOS version of Earn to Die.  The story mode has been extended to include cross-country driving.  A total of eight vehicles are available instead of the three in the Flash version.  And new upgrades are available like spiked frames.

A new challenge mode for Earn to Die incorporates leaderboards.  Each player competes with the other to see who could reach the rescue helicopter in the shortest amount of days.  Not Doppler and Toffee Games, developers of the original Earn to Die promise that there will be no in-app purchases, so you get the complete game with one price.

Not Doppler and Toffee Games label Earn to Die as an "action, driving and upgrades genre" game.  The game would probably work well for a casual gamer if they wish to do something for awhile on their iOS device.  However Earn to Die doesn't seem to provide much challenge since you never lose money from random events or could die from the zombies.

Would adding zombies make anything better?  Should a zombie apocalypse be in the next Barbie Horse Riding Adventure?  Actually that would sound pretty interesting.

Earn to Die is available right now for the iPhone and iPod Touch.  An HD version is available on the iPad.
