Fruit Ninja Kinect 8-Bit DLC

Fruit Ninja Kinect 8-Bit DLC

Fruit Ninja Kinect is getting an 8-bit makeover with the Fruit Ninja: 8-Bit Cartridge DLC. Finally, video games are including more nostalgia, and thank goodness. I was getting tired of having to play the same handful of games over and over again just to get that nostalgic feel. I mean, what’s the deal video game industry? Why aren’t you filling this nostalgia niche? Why aren’t the familiar franchises being released with few to no changes? Why isn’t there more platforming in the indie games space? Why aren’t the same characters being used for the same stories over and over again? I’m a simple consumer, I only want what I know.

Halfbrick, the developer behind the Fruit Ninja empire, has recreated the 8-bit look and sound for Fruit Ninja fans young and old, but mostly old. It will feature a “Super Retro Land” background, a “Game Man” shadow, and a pixelated blade for players to slice fruit with. I wonder how much fruit waste this game has caused. Are players putting down this game and then clumsily throwing cantaloupes in the air while they try to get combos? Is anybody filming this and putting it online? Yes? Thank you internet. You’re so beautiful.

The game will also feature a chiptune soundtrack, so if you’re tired of complex and sweeping scores that are all over modern games, they’ve got you covered. Halfbrick will be at PAX Prime to demo the new Fruit Ninja Kinect DLC and give away free download codes. Halfbrick has plans for other DLC for this franchise, so be on the lookout for that. I think they’re planning a gritty modern take on the series. Fruit was getting tired of humans not appreciating the power of fruit and just using them for smoothies or for decoration, and they had their revenge. They’ve established a Fruitopia where humans have to fight to survive. Also, Sensei will betray you. DLC for Fruit Ninja Kinect will be out on August 31st for 160 Microsoft points.
