This week, eight more tracks have been revealed for We Sing 80s. I know you all have been anxiously awaiting this announcement, since the We Sing series has swept the world. This title has caused nothing but anarchy. People can’t eat, they can’t sleep, and they refuse to go to work because they feel compelled to sing along to lesser known songs from forgotten eras. It’s been absolutely awful, but get ready for the next chapter in this sad, sad tale as I reveal the latest tracks for We Sing 80s :
Queen – I Want to Break Free
Toto – Africa
Frankie Goes to Hollywood – The Power of Love
Starship – Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now
The Human League – Don’t You Want Me
Sade – Smooth Operator
Lionel Ritchie – All Night Long (All Night)
Cameo – Word Up!
I actually know five of these songs. I love Queen, and this song in particular is fabulous because Freddie pulls off a housewife outfit. I know that song by the Human League because I’m pretty sure it was used to sell dust rags in a commercial, but what song from the 70’s or 80’s hasn’t appeared in a commercial. It’s a part of the circle of life for songs. First, they’re a hit, played constantly until people can’t stand it, then it’s remixed so people in clubs can enjoy it, then everyone forgets about it. 20 years later it shows up in a commercial for diapers. I wonder what Bad Romance will be used to sell. Hopefully Axe body spray, because that stuff is disgusting and can lead to nothing but terrible relationships. As for Boom Boom Pow, I can imagine that played over footage of a toilet scrubber, which seems appropriate.
