Nintendo have confirmed that Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge for the Wii U will launch on the 11th January. The game will contain new weapons, character, a redesigned battle system and online multiplayer modes for all gamers to enjoy.
In Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge, the warrior Ryu Haybasa must fight to lift a curse that threatens to destroy him. The Wii U version of Ninja Gaiden 3 will contain six weapons for gamers to choose from unlike other versions only contained 3. The weapons available in the game are the Sword, Claws, Scythe, Dual Katana , Staff and the Kusari Gama. Each weapon has its own individual strengths. The number of available Ninpo has also been increased from one to three.
Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge contains a number of unique features and enhancements exclusive to the Wii U. The Wii U version of the game will restore enemies’ ability to fight with severed arms or legs. The return of dismemberment means that gamers will have to plan their battle strategies.
In previous instalments of Ninja Gaiden, Ayane only appeared briefly. In Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s edge Ayane will be a playable character. In the game players can use her to progress through her own exclusive chapters using a special set of weapons and Ninpo attacks. Gamers can also use Ryu or Ayane to represent their characters in the game’s online co-op mode.
Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge will also feature new free downloadable content. After the games release, additional playable characters will later be available as free DLC. Nintendo will reveal more information on the characters at a later time. The game also contains Test of Valor battle areas. Each chapter will include a hidden battle area called the Test of Valor. Upon finding hidden crystal skulls, players will be transported to these areas to battle waves of enemies and classic Gaiden bosses.
Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge will also take advantage of the Wii U GamePad functionality.Players will be able to use the GamePad to easily change weapons and Ninpo attacks. They can also quickly reference the button inputs required for the various combo attacks without taking a break from the game. The game also includes a specific character progression system. Players can use Karma points earned throughout the game to learn new moves, upgrade weaponry and Ninpo , increase HP and unlock new character costumes.
Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge will be released for the Wii U on the 11th January 2013.
