The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds is set in the same world and timeline as The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. Many years have passed since the events of the SNES game and Link must now travel between the worlds of Hyrule and Lorule using a new mysterious power. This power lets Link become a drawing on the walls and also functions as a means to gameplay, allowing Link to solves puzzles with this new ability. A slightly new feature to the game will be the ability to buy/rent various items throughout the game, allowing players to explore any damage at their own will and pace.
