The first game Satoru Iwata announced for the Wii-U was Super Mario 3D World, a four player Mario game that is set in
a very nice looking 3D world. It will let each player play as one of the four characters, Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Toad. Leaving it up to you to decide if you would like to play as cooperatively, or competitively, as you would please. Along with each of the four players comes four unique abilities that each of them can use in there gameplay to help themselves, or each other out.
One new feature is the cat transformation that each of the characters can obtain while playing. While in cat form the characters will be able to climb up walls, scratch enemies, or dash up the flagpole at the end of each level. The new warp pipes were shown in the game, which will help add some new puzzle elements. This title is set to release in December of 2013.
We were also given a few minutes of gameplay from Mario Kart 8, while it showcased a new and some returning elements that will be featured in this upcoming game. The new element was anti gravity, this gives the ability for the racers to climb up walls or go upside down on the tracks, this will add a new sense of challenge to the game. Some of the returning elements include gliders and motorbikes. It has a release date of the spring of 2014.
Wii Party U was showcased after this, it is set to have 80 brand new mini games. With this they announced new “Tabletop Minigames” which can be played with only the game pad.
