Wii U owners can rejoice, because the long-awaited release of Pikmin 3 in finally here, with new Pikmin types, gorgeous HD, and with a variety of single, and multiplayer modes for newcomers, for fans of the series to try out.
Pikmin 3 tells the story of three brave explorers Alph: the mechanical whiz, Brittany: the expert on planet life, and Charlie, the seasoned veteran of the group who embarks on an important mission. Their mission is to collect fruit to save their home planet, Koppai. The three explorers plot a course to the lush green planet PNF-404, but when something goes wrong, they have to make an emergency crash landing and get separated. Can they find each other and repair their spaceship, the S.S. Drake? Can they survive on the strange new world? Will the 3 explorers fail or will they complete their mission and save their planet?
There are five different types of Pikmin, Red Pikmin: immune to fire number one in offence, Yellow Pikmin: are excellent diggers, and electricity does not hurt them, Blue Pikmin: can survive and attack underwater. New to the series – a Rock Pikmin: Powerful when thrown and can smash through obstacles with ease. Also new is the Winged Pikmin: this pinkish delight has the ability to fly anywhere, and can carry items over obstacles.

Pikmin 3 offers hours of gameplay with the Main Story mode. And the game feature single player and an additional multiplayer mode for players to enjoy.
- Mission mode the player(s) play through select levels, with earning the most points, gathering treasure, fight off enemies, and defeating towering bosses.
- Bingo Battle two players have to compete in different arenas, collecting items, while achieving “four in a row” on an on-screen bingo card.
- White Pikmin and Purple Pikmin from Pikmin 2 both appear exclusively in Mission Mode and Bingo Battle.
There are also several unique uses for the Wii U GamePad controller you can use the in-game camera to capture the alien- safari feel to the world. You can also snap and caption photos, and share them via Miiverse. During gameplay, the gamepad could be used as a map, so players have a top-down view of the action, and can reference other data points, that will help plot out movements.
