Get ready everyone, the Nintendo Network and several other functions for the Wii U will be up and running when the new console launches across Europe on Friday November 30th. Players, remember that after you successfully connect your new console to the internet and have run a System Update you will be able to access the Miiverse, Wii U Chat, Internet and the Nintendo eShop.
Several exclusive games will be made available to download from Nintendo publishers such as New Super Mario Bros. U, Nintendo Land, ZombiU, FIFA 13 and more. Players can expect demos and special offers to come pouring in on day one. And additional apps for the Wii U like YouTube, and NETFLIX can be downloaded through the Nintendo eShop as well.
Wii U will also be providing a search option where you can watch content by ranking, keyword or genre. Videos of already released and upcoming Wii U content will also be available to view on your TV screen or on the Wii U GamePad.
Also Wii U Premium Pack owners will have exclusive access to Nintendo Network Premium. Every purchase made whether it be software or add-on content, or even a redeemable code or add-on content in the Nintendo eShop from either your Wii U or other publishers, you can earn points for each pound or Euro of the Nintendo eShop price of the respective download. Once players have reached 500 points, they will be able to exchange those earned points for an activation code which can then be used to add funds into the Nintendo eShop.
And available at launch, Miisverse will be making its first appearance. It is a brand new network communication system that allows players to share their experiences, discuss games and find new game content together with players from all across the globe.
Wii U chat uses the already built-in features of the Wii U GamePad to give players a unique way of having a real-time video chat with their friends using the TV screen while the internet capabilities make it very easy to just surf around on the web by using the GamePad. Find a funny picture? Show it to your family using your TV screen, now everyone can enjoy the Wii U, even those who don’t use it for gaming.
Don’t forget parents, there will still be Parental Controls to determine exactly which online and offline content your children can have access to on the Wii U. And don’t worry, for those of you who already own a Wii you can perform a system transfer that will include all of your saved games, WiiWare and Virtual Console games and Mii characters form your previous Wii system to your new Wii U console.
