Nintendo is celebrating the launch of their new 3DSXL title, New Art Academy, by partnering with the Frieze London art fair to support the Family Space exhibit from October 11-14, 2012. Specifically, Nintendo will give families the opportunity to play & learn art basics from New Art Academy. Families will then be able to attend a series of drop-in activities to make collages, drawings, & other art designs. The ethos of the family space exhibit will be to provide a fun and engaging place where parents & children can learn & be entertained.
The Family Space exhibit is produced by the Royal College of Art’s ReeachoutRCA & takes inspiration from the work of Frieze Project's artist Thomas Bayrle and his use of patterns. Many of the activities will demonstrate the many ways patterns can be used. According to Nintendo, the partnership with Frieze London 2012 will be an integral part of a series of autumn activities to celebrate the launch of New Art Academy.
New Art Academy is the follow up to Nintendo’s Art Academy. It features Introductory and Advanced lessons, and offers easy to follow, step-by-step guides to a variety of drawing and painting techniques, styles, and materials. New Art Academy expands its toolbox of paints and pencils, with new art materials to master including color pencils, pastels and a variety of other accessories which help to create a more in-depth art experience. New Art Academy launches on October 1, 2012 for the Nintendo 3DSXL.
