Okami HD To Be Released On Playstation Network

Okami HD is coming to the Playstation Network on October 30th for $19.99. It is, without question, one of the best games I have ever played, and one of the only times where owning a Wii felt worthwhile. The Wii controls made sense for this game, unlike most of the other titles that are ported to the Wii.

The Playstation 3 version of this lovely game will allow players to use Playstation Move controls, so Playstation Move owners can justify the purchase of the ridiculous controller. Whatever, as long as you get to play Okami, I suppose it was worth it. For those without a Move controller, you can use the regular old PS3 controls, but Sony will think you’re a bit of a killjoy.

If you don’t know what this game is about, it’s about a wolf goddess that kills demons and evil creatures with a celestial brush. This game has an original story loosely based on Japanese mythology, but the best part about it is the art style. It looks like you’re traveling through a Japanese ink illustration. It seems like every time a game adopts a unique art style like this, it pays off.

Games that try to look “realistic” always look like junk when you try to play them years later. If you haven’t had the chance to pick up this title, because you made the mistake of buying a decent console like the PS3, then go out and get this. It’s nice to see that the Playstation Network is finally getting some decent titles. And it only took 6 years for Sony to figure it out. It’s not like there are going to be new consoles coming from Sony or Microsoft anytime soon, right? I’m still waiting for a version for my Xbox 360. Please let this happen.
