Pokemon Conquest for Nintendo DS

Pokemon Conquest for Nintendo DS

On June 18th Pokemon Conquest will arrive for the Nintendo DS line of systems. The game will also be playable on the Nintendo 3DS, but in 2D mode.

For the first time in a Pokemon game, you will get to take on the role of Warlords, and protect the region of Ransei.

The game will feature over 200 Pokemon, which includes many from the Pokemon Black and White games.

“Pokémon Conquest offers new adventures for fans of any experience level,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “By stepping into the role of a Warlord who must form alliances to unite the region, they can discover a whole new way to enjoy the strategic battles and imaginative storylines that the Pokémon franchise is known for.”

The region of Ransei is broken up into 17 kingdoms, one for each of the 17 types of Pokémon. You will be able to choose from 36 Warlords to play as, each of which will have different storylines.

Turn based battles as the game progresses can grow in numbers to include 12 Pokémon at once in six-on-six skirmishes, with the playable Warlord able to help with special skills.

Different battle environments will test your wits on which Pokémon to bring to battle, with some offering hazards that can play out in the middle of battles. These include such things as falling rocks, or spouting lava.

If a friend has the game, you can use the local wireless connection two face off in two player battles. Each player will have to either own a Nintendo DS, or 3DS, and a Pokémon Conquest game card.
