Positron to Deliver 12 Releases in 12 Weeks

Retroburn Game Studios have announced that they are set to deliver their game Positron on over 12 platforms over 12 weeks.

Positron is a Tron inspired 3D light cycle racing game. The game is said to have new open environments and advanced game modes made to challenge experienced players. Positron is set for release on Xbox 360, Windows Phone 7, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, Android, iOS, Windows Phone 8, BlackBerry, Mac, PC, and Linux.

Martin Caine from Retroburn Game Studios spoke about his plans for release saying:

“Positron could be supported on more platforms in the future following its initial release.”

The game has three advanced game modes which are Arena mode, Maze mode and Race mode.

Arena mode is based on classic Arcade games and sees gamers battling against enemy vehicles that are trying to crash or destroy them. The player must do to the same to their own enemies and remove them from the arena. Positron’s maze mode features 12 unique arena designs and layouts where the levels progressively get more difficult to navigate whilst offering more opportunities to take out their enemies.

In Maze mode, the players only goal is to reach the end of an intricate maze in the arena. There are no enemies to fight and the only goal is to reach the exit as soon as possible. The maze mode allows gamers to share their fastest times with the online community and offers 3 difficult levels, each including 12 levels with increasingly complicated mazes.

Race mode is similar to maze mode; gamers must complete laps of a circuit laid out in the arena. The trick however is to avoid repeating their own trail on subsequent laps. Race mode features 12 levels of increasing complexity making navigation more difficult as players progress. Positron’s race mode allows gamers to share their fastest times with the online community.

Positron is set to release in April, starting its release  on the Xbox 360. The game will then be released on one new platform each week for the following eleven weeks.
