Nintendo have released info regarding the Lego City franchise, with a range of options available to those wanting to explore the world of Chase McCain.
Lego City Undercover: The Chase Begins will be released exclusive to UK 3DSs on the 26th of April. The game puts players in the role of the rookie cop Chase Mcain as he sets out on his first case in Lego City. Players will be able to explore the city and all of the quirky characters therein as they try to capture the crime lord Rex Fury and lock him up Gamers will also be able to use a disguise system similar to that of previous Lego games in order to gain new powers, which may then be utilised to solve puzzles or fight of criminals.
The 3DS game will utilise features unique to the platform, with players able to enter a scanner mode that uses the device’s touch screen and motion sensors. In this mode, players may move the 3DS around, scouting out the world around them and analysing visual and audio based clues.
The Chase Begins servers as a prequel to the Wii U exclusive Lego City Undercover, which will be out on the 28th of March in Europe. In this game, Rex Fury has managed to escape from his confinement, and it’s up to player controlled Chase McCain to once again hunt Rex down and lock him up.
For those who want to find out more about the world of Lego City, Nintendo have begun releasing a series of six webisodes on their Youtube Channel to build up to the European release of Lego City Undercover. By watching these videos, fans will be able to uncover the stories behind many of the characters of Lego City, including Dunby, the city’s Chief of Police, Chase’s friend Franky Honey, his colleague Ellie Phillips and his girlfriend Natalia Kowalski, who has been put into witness protection. The series will also give an insight into the criminals of Lego City.
