Pre-orders for War of the Roses Ends Soon

Which medieval weapon in War of the Roses is your favorite?

Once you get all that heavy armor wrapped around your torso and are ready to hop onto your war horse, which medieval weapon do you bring into combat?  Do you prefer something simple like a sword, which can slice through limbs yet doesn't have a great reach?  Or do you go for a bow, firing a volley of arrows at your enemies from a distance while you are on the castle wall?  These are the questions you will have to decide in War of the Roses as the chance to get into the early access via pre-order is closing soon.

Developed by Fatshark, who's previous games include Lead and Gold: Gangs of the Wild West and Krater, both on the PC.  War of the Roses is a medieval squad combat title that relies on player skill and choice of weaponry for survival.  As the trailer implies, skill is not something that you unlock but have to work towards.

The pre-order for War of the Roses will be ending the 25th of this September.  So any knights caught stuck in awe of the trailer or thinking of what weapon to bring will lose their chance of getting in.  Anyone that does pre-order right now will gain a week of access to the battlefield on this day, where they can hone their skills before the official launch date of October 2nd, 2012.

Once you are in War of the Roses, players will have to decide if they swear loyalty to the House of Lancaster or the House of York.  When you select your house, you can arm single, customizable soldier with three types of weapons and then rush towards the battlefield in a single-player campaign or online multiplayer.

War of the Roses can be pre-ordered from their Web site.  Any wise knights who pre-order also receive a free upgrade to the Digital Deluxe Edition and an exclusive set of in-game armor.
