Ubisoft brings the Prince back to the original saga for more 2D gameplay
At the time of writing this article Ubisoft will have continued the original Prince of Persia saga when they released their latest mobile episode The Prince of Persia: The Shadow and the Flame for iOS and Android devices.
Prince of Persia: The Shadow and the Flame follows the events of the original storyline and as such picks off after the events of the first Prince of Persia game.
Prince of Persia: The Shadow and the Flame is played entirely in 2D although don’t worry because there is still plenty of Prince of Persia’s classic platforming and puzzles. Oh and combat too.
Speaking of the combat system Ubisoft has decided to improve it so now you’ll have to fight multiple enemies on-screen at the same time, some of which have specific weaknesses.
There’s also a brand new combo system added as well but in the trailer it doesn’t show it off at all to the point where when they attempt to show it off, it just looks like their spamming the same move.
Although The Shadow and the Flame obviously has a touch-screen based control scheme you can also, if you prefer, play the game using classic joysticks instead.
Like most games nowadays The Shadow and the Flame has achievements to unlock as well as leaderboards and the ability to share your scores with your friends on Facebook.
Prince of Persia: The Shadow and the Flame is available for iOS as well as Google Play and Amazon for Android devices and it costs £1.99.
