Public Beta Release Announced For Oversoul

rtix Entertainment who is the indie game development studio that creates and publishes download-free, browser-based RPGs to over 150 million registered players ( that’s an awful lot of players), announced the public Beta release for Oversoul, its newest PVP MMORPG, scheduled to start October 31st, 2012. The public Beta release will be open to all players. Like a Halloween present from them to you and you didn’t even have to go trick or treating!

Oversoul is an all new PVP MMORPG with unique gameplay that uses a system of battlecards to battle against opponents. The battles are based on strategy, so players won’t be able to use just any card against any opponent. Each monster has its own strengths and weaknesses and it’s up to the players to put on their thinking caps to find out what they are and use their battlecards effectively to win the fight. Players who successfully win against one opponent will find that the same strategy will often fail against other opponents due to different strengths and weaknesses.

In Oversoul ,players will be able to engage in PvP (Player vs. Player) battles to try and outsmart each other or they can engage in PvE (Player vs. Environment) battles against monsters. Winning a battle against a monster will allow the players a chance to possess it and play the game as that monster. But that’s easier said than done my friends as to possess rare monsters, players will have to find them first, which will be like trying to find a Charizard in Pokemon. After searching and searching, the player must win a battle against them to get a chance to possess them.

The combat system is turn-based strategy. At the start of a new battle, players will be dealt five cards. Cards can be attacks, defense, or specials. Each deck will have only a small percentage of specials cards. Specials allow for fun game mechanics such as turning all of a player’s attack cards into block cards or causing the enemy to lose one turn, or turning a defense card into hit points. Just remember not to use your best cards all at once as Oversoul is all about strategy!
