Shoot Rocks in New Borderlands 2 Game Mode

Shoot Rocks in New Borderlands 2 Game Mode

I don’t know how else to say this. In Borderlands 2, players will have the chance to shoot at rocks to earn prizes. Handsome Jack, the villain of Borderlands 2 has etched his face into a rock, which he has named Mount Jackmore, and players can retaliate by shooting at his stony visage to earn prizes.

That’s right everyone, gaming has now been reduced to a mode where you shoot at rocks. I mean, with the technology at the fingertips of the developers they could have made a mode where you could fly around the world, or ride unicorns, or explore the depths of the ocean, but no. We’re going to have people shoot rocks. I’m sure they have research to back up this game mode, because they always research stuff like this. Maybe executives at 2K Games saw how popular Minecraft was, so they told the developers to incorporate mining in some way, and this is what they came up with. Or maybe they heard the buzz around Peter Molyneux’s Curiosity, where players chip away at a cube, and wanted their game to get a piece of that hot, rock chipping action. I don’t think they realize that when Molyneux comes up with most of his ideas, he’s really, really drunk. But apparently the executives at 2K were drunk too.

Players start off with 100 bullets to shoot at Jack’s face, and can earn more bullets by inviting their friends. Players will receive prizes at timed points in the game, and will be encouraged to shoot certain spots at certain times. The player who destroys the final piece of the mountain will win a special prize, and among the prizes for shooting this man-shaped rock will be some Ultimate Loot Chests. When did the gaming industry become a parody of itself? Please let this be an elaborate joke. If this is true and ends up being popular, I don’t want to live on this planet anymore.
