Six New Pokemon World Champions!

This weekend at the 2012 Pokemon World Championships in Waikoloa, Hawaii six new Pokemon World Champions were announced.

Six Teenage boys who had barely seen daylight since there existence walked away promoted to World’s Best Pokemon Trading Card Game (TCG) and video game players. Managing to climb higher than the hundreds of other Pokemon players who came to the “Aloha state” from more than 30 countries including the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain.

It wasn’t an easy road. Battling 1 Year prior to the Pokemon World Championships in the Play! events, There commitment and winning consistency led them to the Championships.

The 2012 Pokemon TCG and Video Game World Champions are:
– 2012 Pokemon TCG Junior Division World Champion, Shuto Itagaki from Japan.
– 2012 Pokemon Video Game Junior Division World Champion, Abram Burrows from the United States of America.
– 2012 Pokemon TCG Senior Division World Champion, Chase Moloney from Canada.
– 2012 Pokemon Video Game Senior Division World Champion, Toler Webb from the United States of America.
– 2012 Pokemon TCG Masters Division World Champion, Igor Costa from Portugal.
– 2012 Pokemon Video Game Masters Division World Champion, Ray Rizzo from the United States of America.

The Champions who became victorious will not only recieve the title Pokemon World Champion, But also a special Pikachu World Championships Trophy, Invitation to the 2013 Championships and collectively they will get $100.000 in scholarships.
A select number of finalists and their Pokemon teams will be distributed as a Pokemon Trainer avatar in the upcoming Pokemon Black and White Version 2 video games via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service. I think you have got the idea why it is only a select few.

Players who purchase the Pokemon Black and White Version 2, That will be out on the 7th of Oktober this year more news of that will be distributed later this year, Will be able to battle against the Pokemon World Championships finalists and their teams in the Pokemon World Tournament. A new battle arena featured in the games.

I would go back and play Pokemon anytime if it wasn’t for well, I mean I am 19 years old. Its been 9 years since I played Pokemon and back in my day, Whichever Pokemon card had higher HP won.
