It is being called the best Splinter Cell since Chaos Theory, and gamers in the UK finally got to check out what all the fuss is about when Splinter Cell Blacklist released Friday in that region on all major consoles.
Since its release in North America last Tuesday, the game has receieved critical acclaim, scoring in the 90s on reputable gaming websites and a total of 82 per cent on Metacritic.
But why? The game hasn’t received the same hype that other high profile games have received.
Well, the answer – or so many fans of the series say – is that Ubisoft Toronto focused the game back on its stealth roots made so popular in Chaos Theory. Many complained about how different Splinter Cell Double Agent was, and it seems that Ubisoft Toronto listened and delivered in its first major release since the studio’s opening back in 2009.
Of course, the game brings back co-op missions and the critically-acclaimed Spies vs. Mercs multiplayer mode. Spies vs. Mercs will have 2 vs. 2 action, but also has a new Spies vs. Mercs Blacklist version which supports up to 8 players in 4 vs. 4 battles. The game will feautre a universal economy and customization system.
The game is now available for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC.
