Tiny Troopers has just been released for PC and Mac. The title was previously released by Iceberg Interactive for mobile and iOS devices. About half of the new launch trailer consists of corporate logos, but once you get past that you finally get to see some gameplay. I can’t wait for the day when the entire trailer is just logos from various publishers and developers, because who wants to see gameplay, I mean really. I judge the value of every game based on the flashiness of the logo for the company. I almost didn’t play through Skyrim because Bethesda’s logo is so blah. Where’s the company motto or the flashy colors or the 90’s guitar riff?
Tiny Troopers is available for purchase from Steam, Gamestop, Amazon, Gamersgate, Metaboli, Green Man Gaming, Get Games Go and some other venues. According to Erik Schreuder from Iceberg, “The game delivered impressive graphics and gameplay on the mobile version and looks and plays even better on the new platforms.” They’ve created 30 missions and the opportunity for players to specialize in a class such as a machine gunner or a medic. We’ve also been informed that this is “the safest way to fight a war.” Yes, because that’s the problem with wars. They just aren’t safe enough. We certainly don’t want to get rid of wars. That’s just silly and unrealistic, and we demand realism in our games. I’m going to go play as a plumber that rescues the princess of a mushroom kingdom from a turtle. Be right back.
The gameplay of Tiny Troopers consists of players fighting through hordes of enemies, with the soldiers who survive the most missions receiving the most bonuses and upgrades. I think by “upgrade” they mean we finally get to move from the frontlines and are given the opportunity to have a lavish political career. I think I’ve just come up with an amazing sequel to this title. We’ll call it, “Petite Politician.” They’ll pass little bills and make little political gaffes. It will be adorable.
