Playstation 4 bundles announced for UK release, including Watch Dogs and Killzone: Shadow Fall bundles.
Sony have confirmed that there will be four different bundles available for purchase at the console’s launch in November. The first is the standard console package, which comes with a Playstation 4 system and a single Dual Shock 4 controller. Two of the others are linked to some of the PS4’s biggest upcoming launch releases, including the previously announced Killzone: Shadow Fall bundle, which features the console, a controller and a copy of the upcoming shooter. The other game-linked bundle is a Watch Dogs bundle, which contains the PS4 console, a controller and a copy of Ubisoft’s highly-anticipated upcoming open-world game.
The fourth package is billed as a ‘Mega Bundle’, and contains a PS4 console, two Dual Shock controllers, the Playstation Camera, and a copy of Killzone: Shadow Fall.
Sony have also announced that there will be other bundles available throughout Europe, but that these four are the only ones coming to the UK. Previously announced bundles for other European countries include a bundle for Germany containing Drive Club and Killzone: Shadow Fall.
There may be other bundles for sale that are assembled by individual retailers themselves, but these won’t be official Sony bundles, though that could potentially make very little difference to the customers.
The news comes just a few days after online retailer Simplygames was revealed to be requiring customers to pay between £415 and £470 for their own Playstation 4 bundles to be guaranteed a console for launch day, causing massive backlash from fans across the globe. Simplygames have since commented on the issue, saying that they have received more bundles and less Playstation 4 consoles than expected, and so have had to ration the number of Playstation 4 pre-orders that can be fulfilled for launch day, though there’s still a lot of backlash against the company for it’s tactics, especially given that it’s not official PS4 bundles that they’re requiring fans to purchase.
The Playstation 4 launches in the US in just over five weeks, on the 15th November, and in the UK on 29th November.
