Vergil Rises in New DmC Trailer at Gamescom

The new DmC was an iffy game for fans of the franchise to look at originally. Today at Gamescom developer Ninja Theory showed games that they aren’t backing down without a fight to win them over in this new story trailer.

The trailer shows the return of Dante’s double-edged brother Vergil as he forces Dante to weigh up his values in what might be the most important sequence of events in his life. As fans may know Virgil originally became some-what of an anti-hero in the previous games as he sought to destroy the demon world through obtaining more demonic power than his father. This new footage shows what seems to be the origin story of Virgil’s lust to stop at nothing to destroy the inhabitants of the Underworld.

This time we see Vergil leading an anti-establishment group known as ‘The Order’ in which he hopes Dante will help him bring to power by standing by his side through the destruction of the shady forces of demons. Could the happenings within this trailer hint to the ultimate outcome of what leads onto Devil May Cry 3? The only way to find will be to check out our release week review of the “highly anticipated” retelling of Dante’s baby steps into being the destined legendary demon hunter we all know and love him.

It is no secret that long devoted fans of the series have problems with the game been rebooted to the beginning of its roots. Ninja Theory seems to be showing a lot of devotion to the original instalment’s lore, so in a way fans should be happy to know that their demon hunter is in safe hands.

DmC is scheduled for release on 15th January 2013 for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
