Ironpants Review

Ironpants Review
I think the recent Flappy Bird fiasco has really shown how low the standards of mobile games are nowadays. It wasn't hard to tell that Flappy Bird wasn't exactly the absolutely greatest game out on the mobile platform, and when it was taken down the app store has gotten flooded with Flappy Bird rip-offs. So now we have an appsolute (see what I did there? it was terrible I know) landslide of Crappy Bird  (I'm not even going to apologize for that one.) knock-offs floating around  and people download them because they were late to the Flappy Bird craze. The game in question is Ironpants and I'll be honest, I didn't think you could make Flappy Bird any worse but damn was I mistaken. The gameplay is literally the same  as Flappy Bird. You tap the screen to fly Ironpants through the gaps in the piles of wooden crates. The thing that makes it worse than Flappy Bird is the controls. Half the difficulty of the original Flappy Bird is the fact that the controls are incredibly difficult to control, but Ironpants makes it even harder. In Flappy Bird each time you tap the screen the bird goes up a set distance per tap. In Ironpants you need to tap and hold the screen to send Ironpants upwards in relation to how long you held your finger on the screen. This makes it really hard to control your height and generally makes it hard to play. Flappy Bird was just hard enough that it kept you coming back, but Ironpants just makes me annoyed and want to stop playing. The only real positive praise I can give is that the controls respond decently and the game actually works. The lifespan of Iron pants is very short. You'll most likely get fed up with the controls an quit, and even if you stick with it the game is so repetitive you'll get bored in no time. Out of all the Flappy Bird rip-offs I've played so far Ironpants is definitely one of the worst. If you've played Flappy Bird and are still unfortunate enough to have it installed on your device you may as well play that instead. Ironpants is available on iOS and Android for free. Good thing too because paying for games like this should be a crime. To discover more Free Games head over to our Freeplay section.
