I think Rush Bros is a very creative platformer with a great soundtrack and competitive edge, which is worth picking up at a great price.
Rush Bros is a new stylised music driven platformer and has a big multiplayer element. The basics of the game “Rush Bros is a pulse-pounding, music infused Platform Racing Game that features a single player and a competitive multiplayer either split-screen local or online between two simultaneous racers. Rush through over 40 unique levels jam-packed with puzzles, obstacles and power-ups in a race to the finish line where the victor can literally crush his competition.”
A cool feature in the game is how music affects the gamers play style. When the music is fast and aggressive I would get (on average) higher scores, and when the music is slower like Concerning Hobbits for example I would (on average) die less but take longer to finish, but the terrific thing is that the music affects the level and you need to pick the right song for the level and time yourself with the beat. I have taken this out of the other headings just because I think this deserves its own special mention.

The gameplay like most platformers is the most important part of the game. The gameplay is simple but fun with a fast based running jumping and sliding. The game has hazards in it which take the form of Tron like spiky things most of the time. The game has the ability to put your music into the game which can lead to some great experiences. The multiplayer plays a large part of the game with two players racing in unique levels which are just full to bursting with hazards and puzzles. You can annihilate your enemies (friends and random people online in reality) in a quick race to the finish. One problem I have though in multiplayer games is the winner is who ever knows the map better and knows what song will have a major advantage. There are more gamemodes than just trials which are fast forward where everything is faster and it speeds everything up, also there is survival mode which is like hardcore mode in other games where if you die you are done and it is over.
Life Span
The game has a single player element but it is made for multiplayer because of how it has been made with people being able to randomly challenge people online and having split screen (which more games should have by the way). So playing with friends and randomers is the main meat of this game, also when your playing to get the highest score like most people will you will get addicted too. In my opinion the game lasts long enough so it is worth a lot more than £6.99.
Presentation
The game looks great with an amazing retro look blended with a cool indy style to it. The game has a big soundtrack which you can add too with your own music library and that will create a great experience. It is one of the few games which promise something to do with music and follows through. Rush Bros has a unique look to it and has a very fun quirky style which I think is rare in the triple A companies and only comes from indie companies.
Story/Creativity
There isn’t a story in this game it is purely wizz bang jumpy fun. It is very creative though with its creative art style and music. The only problem is that it doesn’t mix up the platformer formula. The platfome parts are good normal but nothing more added. Apart from its’ art style it doesn’t take any risks with gameplay which I think it could have done with..
