The Consumerist held a poll and for the second straight year EA won the honor of being named the ‘worst company in America’ for the second straight year.
It’s March madness, everybody is doing brackets, and the Consumerist they did a poll of the worst companies in America. They’ve done this for awhile now, and this year it was down between the defending champion Electronic Arts versus Bank of America. When thinking of the worst companies in America, this isn’t exactly the match up I’d think of, but nonetheless, this is the championship game of sorts. The results have been tallied and with 78% of the vote, EA defends their title and are voted as the ‘worst company in America.’
I’m an open minded guy, I like hearing other people’s opinion on various things. I see a list of the “best this…” the “best that…” whatever it might be, I’ll read it and I don’t mind. I’ll scroll down to the comment section and people are getting all hot and bothered about it, but I don’t. I like having discussions about video games. If someone were to say Red Dead Redemption was a bad game, I have no problem with that. I’d strongly disagree with it, but I’d have no problem with it at all. This matter though, the people voting on the consumerist are wrong. There is no way EA is the ‘worst company in America.’ Not a chance at all. There are far, far worse corporations and companies that operate in America. EA is not one of them. If you want to say a company like Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, AIG, Citigroup, among many, many others, absolutely. Those are just scratching the surface of some of the worst companies in America. That’s a good start, but EA isn’t one of them.
Now, if you want to say EA is the worst video game company, that’s a reasonable opinion to have. It goes back to what I said atop, you want to say EA is the worst video game company, I have no problem with that. Heck, I may even agree with you, if I gave it some thought. But, to say EA, out of all the companies in America, are the worst? No, not all. That’s just not right at all.
