Game Designer Director David Vonderhaar from Treyarch steps through the Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 multiplayer trailer with a commentary on all the cool things available.
Mild spoilers before you watch the trailer below: You are not going to see anything new in this multiplayer trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. What you will get is a commentary from Game Designer Director David Vonderhaar about every scene in the trailer. Most of it basically goes over the same footage we seen in our first look at this trailer. However there might be some bits of information acquired from this commentary trailer that explains the mechanics beyond our first look.
There is some new things to see, but it's more a visual explanation of the mechanics. Some of the new stuff might only be understood by die hard, core Call of Duty fans as Vonderhaar does talk about how classes are built. It seems like the way how class builds are made is with a series of perks applied to the character (six total), two grenades (each possibly having one perk), a main weapon (three possible perks), and a side-arm (two possible perks). When a session starts you pick a variety of perks, main weapons, grenades, and side-arms that define your build.
Vonderhaar does go into detail with some class builds in the game, such as the "IAmElectro" build. Vonderhaar explains some of the items used in this build like the "shock charge," a grenade that could stun enemies. Vonderhaar also admits that old features from previous Call of Duty games might come back, such as the "Dive to prone" action. And yes, Vonderhaar also does go into detail about the ED-209 A.G.R. bipedal tank we saw earlier this summer.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will be available this November for the Wii U, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
