Series creator Masahiro Sakurai says it is not Subspace Emissary
A new screenshot of smash Bros 3DS version posted on Nintendo Miiverse by creator Masahiro Sakurai, shows popular character Mario in a new level with strange looking platforms.
It is suggested that this might be an image from a single-player mode, but a comment made by the creator stated that it wasn’t from Subspace Emissary a mode last seen in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
“Pic of the day. Where am I……?? To be clear, the new Super Smash Bros. Games does not feature a story mode like The Subspace Emissary,”
Namco Bandai is behind the developer of the new Wii U and 3DS Smash Bros. Games game but is still headed in development by Sakurai and studio Project Sora. The team includes producer Masaya Kobayashi (Ridge Racer) and director Yoshito Higuchi (Soul Calibur).
Kobayashi went on to express his excitement about the team involved in the development:
“All the top creators from Namco Bandai are gathered here to create a never-before-seen dream team for this project. We will fully utilise our experience and knowledge in action/fighting game development, technical capability, and organisation strength, and we hereby promise you that we will developer the best and most powerful Super Smash Bros. Titles ever.”
Smash Bros. For Wii U and 3DS have not yet been given release dates, though they are expected to launch in 2014.
