Namco Bandai have unveiled new information about Tekken Tag Tournament 2 on the Wii U. The game will be released on November 30th to coincide with the launch window of Nintendo’s Wii U Console.
Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is the eighth main instalment in the Tekken fighting game series. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will also include exclusive DLC content, characters and stages from the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game.
Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will take advantage of the Wii U controller. Players will have to use the Wii U’s gamepad touch panel to carry out different move sets and combos. The games Fight Lab will allow inexperienced players to learn the mechanics and combos of Tekken. Gamers will also be able to customise different combo’s moves and appearance.
The game includes almost every character from previous Tekken games, which gives it the largest playable roster with over 50 characters, in any Tekken game. Players can also choose to play as either a team of two characters or a solo character. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will feature character costumes based on a range of Nintendo franchises. These include costumes from Super Mario Bros., Metroid, Star Fox, F-Zero, and The Legend of Zelda. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 also includes the most detailed set of customisation options in any Tekken game.
In Tekken Tag Tournament 2 gamers will be able to play in a game mode that uses Power Ups from the Super Mario series. Players will be able to eat a Mario Mega Mushroom to make their characters even bigger. The Mushroom Battle Mode also features Super Mushrooms, Poison Mushrooms, and Super Stars.
Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will contain Multiplayer; gamers will be able to fight in a 2 on 2 or 1 on 1 tag team battle. The game also takes advantage of Pair Play which is a team brawl where up to 4 players in each team can participate. The game contains a number of classic gameplay modes including arcade, ghost, versus, team, time attack and survival.
In the game players will be able to replay videos of their battles to analyse their hits and misses for future reference. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will contain a number of new stages so that players can fight in a range of countries and locations around the world. Gamers will also be able make playlists of the games music or import their own personal favourite to play when fighting.
