Great!
Overall the Just Cause 2 Multiplayer Mod is a top quality mod and is very much worth your attention. If you don't own Just Cause 2, I would argue buying it solely for this mod is worth it. There is nothing quite like it
I think all people who played Just Cause 2 had fantasies of a multiplayer mode being made. The idea of surfing planes into the ocean with a friend was just an awesome thing to imagine. So everyone was delighted and surprised when it actually happened. All my fantasies of having extreme bus races with another person were realised, and more.
The game play is practically identical to the original game, with all the parachuting, grappling and car surfing all working in the exact same way. As I said before the biggest difference is really just the fact that you get to play with other people. The shenanigans you can get up to in the Just Cause 2 Multiplayer mod are beyond anything I personally have seen in a multiplayer game. The custom commands implemented by each individual server are one of the biggest gameplay differences and also half the fun of the mod. For example the command ‘boost’, which adds upwards of 300kmph worth of forward momentum in all sea and land vehicles, causing them to gain so much speed they start flying. Me and my friends have had endless fun ‘flying’ boats across the map and attempting to land them in the ocean unscathed.
The game is also very organic. By that I mean that new ideas for custom game modes, cool stunts and things to do in general spring up by themselves, the game doesn’t have to give you ideas. Being in the massive sandbox world with guns and vehicles at your disposal is easily enough to keep you entertained for ages. The servers are going to keep getting more and more interesting as new ideas are implemented onto each server. The gameplay is just as fun as the normal game with the added bonus of playing with others and added commands. The only thing I would like added is maybe the ability to play some of the story missions with friends, however this is up to the individual servers. Overall the Just Cause 2 Multiplayer Mod is really fun and enjoyable.
The graphics are very beautiful and run really well for mow much the game needs to render at any one time. It’s truly a sight to behold as you fly over the green forests in a bus watching the world rush by. The game does begin to chug a little more than just the original game due to the additional players. It’s one thing for the game to drop some frames when just one player is surfing a jumbo jet into the ocean, but when 15 other players are doing the same thing, you can expect some performance issues. In the way of music there is nothing really to talk about at all. To be honest it’s a bit unfair to judge a mod on not having top notch music, or any music at all.
The beauty of this mod in my opinion, is how every time you play it’s a different experience. You can be having a chaotic gun fight at the airport one game, and a demolition derby the next. This mod truly has an incredible lifespan and will keep you entertained for hours. I highly recommend getting playing this mod with some friends as well, it make the various mischief you can get up to a lot more fun.
Overall the Just Cause 2 Multiplayer Mod is a top quality mod and is very much worth your attention. If you don’t own Just Cause 2, I would argue buying it solely for this mod is worth it. There is nothing quite like it. The organic gameplay, incredibly fun game mechanics and a thriving community make this one of the best mods around.
