The Walking Dead: Season Two Episode Three Available Now

The Walking Dead: Season Two episode three ‘In Harm’s Way’ is available now on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, and Mac. Episode 3, In Harm’s Way, will be available on iOS devices Thursday, May 16th. As for the PlayStation Vita version, that is still unknown, but it shouldn’t be too far off as the first two episodes just recently came to the PlayStation Vita.

Telltale’s second season of The Walking Dead has been just as good as the first season and, not surprisingly, Telltale has reaped the rewards in terms of accolades and sales success. Up to this point, Telltale’s The Walking Dead series has sold more than 28 million episodes worldwide across the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, PlayStation Vita, and others.

Also, it’s worth pointing out that we should recognize the fact that Telltale Games is keeping their games on a regular schedule now. Telltale Games have gotten a lot of flack in the past for untimely release dates on their games. Especially, season one of The Walking Dead last year. But, now it seems as though they’ve straightened that out.

The Wolf Among Us episode two came out in early February, then The Walking Dead episode two came out in early March; The Wolf Among Us episode 3 came out in early April and now we see episode three of The Walking Dead coming out in early-to-mid May. Credit where credit is do so a tip of the cap to Telltale Games and hopefully they can continue to keep it up.

Phil Spencer, Head Of Xbox Announces New Updates & The Kinect-less Xbox One Bundle
Phil Spencer Head of Xbox shared his new vision for the Xbox Division that fans will embrace as they unleash news about the future of Xbox. Spencer went on to thank consumers for their feedback in November when the new console launched and how they have made changes with monthly update.

On June 9th in all available markets that Xbox One is sold, the console will now run at 349 pounds in the UK and $399 In north America, a new option that does not include the Kinect.

For £349, our new Xbox One offering will continue to deliver access to the best blockbuster games like “Titanfall,” “Call of Duty: Ghosts,” “Forza Motorsport 5,” “Dead Rising 3,” and the upcoming “Watch Dogs,” “Destiny” and “Sunset Overdrive”.

Along with this new console option Spencer announced the removal of pay walls for Netflix, Youtube, and Twitch which now do not require an Xbox Live Gold account to be used.

Games with Gold will also continue to involve with the arrival of itsfeatures on Xbox One with Halo: Spartan Assault and Max: The Curse of Brotherhood, available free in the month of June

. On Xbox 360 the free games will be Dark Souls, Charlie Murder, and bonus game Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition.

Since its launch over 12 million gamers have enjoyed free games with over 200 million hours logged.

 

Microsoft will also be starting Exclusive Discounts which also begins in June. Each month hit games such as Forza Motorsport 5, Ryse: Son of Rome, and other titles will see discounts. With savings of up to 50-70 percent off expected gamers can also expect more in the new virtual VIP room, where Gold subscribers will see free games, monthly deals, and other benefits to be announced.

 

We’re constantly adding new partners and experiences to the growing catalog on Xbox One. Coming in June, anyone with an Xbox will be able to access popular entertainment experiences – whether or not you have an Xbox Live Gold membership. Microsoft experiences including Internet Explorer, Skype, OneDrive and OneGuide will also be available to all Xbox customers4.
 

Spencer went on to say that although Kinect is being removed for some console options that will remain an important asset of the Microsoft brand, with an average of over 120 voice commands per month on each console and more then 80 percent of users actively using Kinect. A standalone Kinect will also be available for sale in Fall for gamers who wish to buy the Kinect later.

NEW MARIO KART 8 GAMEPLAY FEATURES & MORE
With less than a month to go until Mario Kart 8 is officially released on 30th May, Nintendo released a new Nintendo Direct video revealing just enough information to keep fans excited for potentially the hottest Wii U exclusive of the year.

New items and characters were just some of the gameplay features revealed, alongside Mario Kart TV, a new in-game channel allowing players to watch highlight reels of their races, and a detailed explanation of the online multiplayer component of the game.
GAMEPLAY FEATURES
Mario Kart 8 allows up to 12 players to compete at a time, and offers a wide range of ways to find opponents. For instance, players can choose whether to compete against players from all over the world, or on a much more regional level.

For those players who prefer to race against their friends, Mario Kart 8 is to include chat in the in-game lobbies, so players can talk to one another whilst waiting for their slower friends to join in.

There’s also the option to create tournaments to compete against either friends or other gamers globally at set times to really test who’s best.

As always ghost data will also be recorded so that there’s always friendly competition to race against regardless of the date and time.

 
ADDITIONAL FEATURES
Mario Kart 8 also makes it easier to rub a friend’s face in it when they’re left them trailing behind, including Mario Kart TV which allows players to watch highlights of the races and even post them to the Miiverse and Youtube for the entire world to see.

For those who’re interested in watching the very best Mario Kart players in the world, Mario Kart TV will provide access to the world’s most popular highlight reels.

Additional Items and Playable Characters
To top it off, Mario Kart 8 adds to the already extensive list of characters by adding in Baby Rosalina and Pink Gold Peach, the princess’ own equivalent of Metal Mario, bringing the total to 30 available drivers.

New items include the Super Horn, which blows away anything around the player, and the Crazy Eight, a collection of eight items that lucky drivers will be able to use one after the other.
FREE DOWNLOAD WITH EVERY MARIO KART 8 PURCHASED
Nintendo also announced a scheme which will allow players to receive a free Wii U title to download with any copy of Mario Kart 8 purchased.

Whether bought from the Nintendo eShop or at retail, players will be able to register the Club Nintendo PIN that accompanies the game at any point before 31st July 2014 to receive a free download code for one of ten WII U games.

There have been a number of excellent crafting and adventure type games that absolutely devoured my time when I played them. Villagers and Heroes is not one of those games.

I can’t even estimate the number of hours I’ve spent mining ore in Runescape – keep in mind that is also a free game. Or how many I’ve spent grinding in World of Warcraft. However, I can definitively say I will not be going back to Mad Otter’s MMO adventure.

 
Gameplay
Villagers and Heroes isn’t a combat based game. With only a handful of abilities and some perks available from weapons, there just isn’t a great amount of depth to the combat system. I’ve yet to encounter a single combat scenario in which I had to do more than wait for the enemy to die while occasionally clicking a special ability. If this game were about grinding XP in the wilderness, I wouldn’t give it the time of day.

That being said, what Villagers and Heroes is really about is crafting. Much of the game is centered around gathering supplies – during which those combat skills will save your life – and crafting. The gathering and crafting skills go hand in hand. Without the proper gathering know-how, you may be left to spend all your coin in the auction house.

 

On the plus side, you can be a master at any and all the skills. One admittedly neat feature is that you can be a part of a village. By buying a house you can farm, raise animals, and even customize your house. I’d have to say this is the main appeal of the game since so little actual combat seems to happen.

The gist of the gameplay rests on gathering materials to level up those skills and going home to craft away whatever generally useless doodad boosts your crafting skill. This type of gameplay certainly has its appeal to specific audiences, but without a doubt, is not for me.

 
Presentation
Villagers and Heroes is a cheery sort of game. The atmosphere is very chilled and laid back. Spending time in the middle of Ardent City is somewhat like being in some festival. Everything is colorful with relaxing tunes in the background. Much of the game is quite tranquil.

Depending on how you set your graphics, Villagers and Heroes can be quite nice looking. There are lots of little details that can kill your frame rate, but if you can’t run it comfortably these can be scaled down.

Some of the less friendly areas also benefit from the nice artwork. There are plenty of creepy crawlies and assorted scaly things roaming the hostile wilderness. Though I have yet to walk out into a new environment with the same levels of awe as I’ve had in more established titles like The Elder Scrolls series. Hostile territories are typically dark and gloomy, and the cities seem to be in a perpetual state of festivity, but nothing in the world strikes me as more than a prop in a video game. That is to say, I’ve yet to feel as though the world is in any way alive.

Lifespan
 

In all honesty, Villagers and Heroes fails to hold my attention. While I can say with some certainty that there are people that would enjoy playing it, it would be dishonest to say I was anything but bored most of the time.

This game isn’t for me, but I’m likely not the part of the “target audience”. Villagers and Heroes has plenty of sometimes drawn-out and stretchy quests to do, and bounties that can be collected over and over. In fact, there are even some little errands I enjoyed performing even just for the hilarity that ensues.

 
Freeness
Villagers and Heroes can be played without buying anything. Not that it has in any way persuaded me to spend money.

There are things like travel stones that can be bought – when you run out of the ones you get for free – in order to travel around the map. Otherwise you just have to walk. Which is time consuming and sometimes irritating, but at least you didn’t have to pay for it.

 
In the end
Villagers and Heroes is pretty much just one of those games that either keep you engaged or bore you to death. As far as MMO games go, this game just doesn’t hold the appeal more well developed games do. That is just my experience with this game. It can be a somewhat entertaining and even slightly charming walk in the park, but overall just fails to make me come back – let alone make me spend money.
