Nice to a next gen consoles embrace Free-To-Play gaming
With the North American beta launch of Blacklight Retribution having worked so well to introducing American gamers to the world of Blacklight, Zombie Studio’s has now finally brought their free-to-play shooter Blacklight: Retribution onto European PS4. Gamers lucky enough to have a PS4 and have it online don’t have an excuse not to download Blacklight since you don’t need to a PlayStation Plus subscription.Taking place in a futuristic world and armed to the teeth with the latest military equipment Blacklight: Retribution sets itself apart from other free-to-play titles with one big difference.
What sets Blacklight apart from the crowd is that those barrels, stocks, muzzle and more that make up your guns can be interchanged. Pre-made weapons are still available of course and as you level up you’ll obviously earn more.
But maybe you want more customising options for your personally made rifle, well you’re in luck as you can customise your loadouts further with grenade launchers, flamethrowers, rail guns and even mini-guns available to you as your level increases.
As a free-to-play title you may be wondering what you’ll have to use real money to purchase and if the game is in fact pay to win. Well something added to the console versions is the ability to rent equipment for up to a week but if you want it quickly you’re going to need to drop real world cash.Blacklight: Retribution is now available on PS4 in Europe.
Einfo Games said in their Blacklight Retribution Review “If they keep on track with supporting the community with extra content and patches to sort out the rendering and lag problems within matches then we may all be in for a summer free-to-play treat that could also end up lasting for years to come.”
